Default Head Unit installation help

Hello,

Can some one please tell me what is the proper way to install a Eclipse AVN5500 without losing the nav voice guidance output from the speaker?
This is what I did: I used the speaker wires on the back of the headunit, you know the black/white & black/grey wires to connect to my amplifiers. A friend suggested I disconnect the rear speakers alltogether so we did that as well during our first installation. Now there are no nav voice output from any of the speakers. I mean all of the components in the system works fine, the Phoenix Gold 804 4 ch amp, Kicker 300.1 mono amp, Kicker CVR 10"
The only thing that went wrong was that the commanding female's voice that tells me to turn this way and that way is gone........
Someone suggested reconnect the rear speakers and it should fix the problem, but as far as I remembered, before I added the amplifiers the nav voice was not coming off the rear speakers, I'd always thought it was outputting through the driver side door? is it true this could be a fix?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I.F.

I have a similar problem with a Pioneer Premiere unit that was in mine when I bought it. Rear speakers and sub are not working, just front speakers. I'm assuming they are all stock Bose speakers still, haven't had a chance to look.
Anyway....voice from Nav doesn't work.

The nav voice is sent from the dvd-nav unit the to bose head unit and then to the front speakers. To get the voice back, you need to hook up a separate speaker to the nav voice output wires which are slightly powered. On my 06, I could barely hear the voice though.

So by reconnecting my rear speakers and hook the nav voice output wire to it I should be able to hear my nav talking to me again? Can you tell me which wire is the nav voice output? Thanks.

Hi guys,

The nav voice is back after reconnecting the rear speakers. It could barely be heard even with the adaptive volume turned all the way up, but at least it's working again. I need to try to tweak the amp to see if I could get volume from my rear speakers up. Can anyone tell me if that's a good idea?

lavon sorry to hear about your sub.

That's good news. Glad you got it working again.

"One day" I plan on taking the car to a professional and having ALL the speakers replaced, amps added, and NAV working correctly. Right now, it's just not a priority.

Hell.....our plan now is to get rid of this one for an "upgrade".
