Have 1 500/1 amp and 2 jl 10w6v2
So i have 2 10w6v2 and only 1 500/1 amp. I was wondering if this amp is gonna be able to push these 2 subs decently or am i better off going with a single 10w7? How would a single 10w7 wired to a 500/1 compare to 2 10w6v2 wired to the same single 500/1 amp?...is it a better idea to sell these to subs and get something within the amps capability such as 2 10 IDQs?
That 500/1 should work perfectly for 2 10w6 or 1 10w7. I've always looked at it like two 10's cover more volume than the one even though it is a more beefier sub. I think you will be happy with the results of either option.
if you are have 3ohm 10w6s, then you are fine, but if you have two dual 4ohm 10w6s, i dont htink the 500/1 can do 1ohm mono...
as far as power goes...you are right in saying that the single 10w7 is better suited to the 500/1 than having it power two 10w6s...
what you may get with underpowering the 10w6s is a bit soft in transient response, meaning a bit "slow" as people say...
as for IDQ, they would sound great, but you wont get nearly as much output as a 10w6 would
my suggestion would be to either keep the dual 10w6s, or heck run the 500/1 into just one of hte 10w6, sell the other one
