Help with HU installation: No sound at all
So today was my first time attempting to install an aftermarket headunit. It's a Kenwood DDX-7017 which I bought from another member. The previous owner had the unit installed professional at an authorized retailer and comes with all the wiring harness. I plugged the 2 wiring harnesses and the antennae plug into the HU and then plugged them both into the factory harnesses. The HU powers up loads and ejectes CD's fine but for some reason no sound is coming out at all. I have a g35 Coupe w/BOSE. Any help is appreciated.

do you have any of the wiring diagrams that would have come with the HU and warnesses? Those diagrams will tell you which wire colors do what. If you don't have them, try searching online for it.

*I just installed my HU and used the Metra harness - if you have the same one, I could find the correct color wire that's for the 'remote turn on' / 'power antenna' (this wrie goes from the HU to the amp...when the HU turns on, it sends a signal to the Amp telling it to also turn on - if you don't have the wire connected properly, the amp will never turn on)

The manual for the ddx is available from kenwood. Its pretty straight forward.
As far as the bose stuff...i can't help there. Mine didn't have any of that. Hopefully someone here can help you with that. You know to ground the e brake wire instead of attaching to the e brake for viewing?

Thanks for the help guys. It wasn't the problem with the wiring. Found out I needed to bypass the Bose HU and so got a PAC ROEM-NIS2. Now how do I ground the wire so I can watch Movies. I have a g35 automatic.
