So it looks like we are making some headway here narrowing down to the perfect components for me. Again thanks you guys for all the experience being shared here.

So it looks like it comes down to these two brands where before starting this post I haven't even heard of Morel. Now I'm glad I do.

Moving forward I chose two types out of the brands and listed the specs. I also believe they are in price order from highest to lowest which was a coincidence. So I am looking for a little more out you guys or from someone new to make my final choice.

Of course the most expensive in this case [I emphasize this case] would be the best choice but I guess I'm trying to figure out is it excess for what I want.

I love clarity and a good feel in music whether played low or loud. But in no shape or form am I entering an audio competition. Nor am I playing music for a parking lot of people. But I believe whats right is right and if your going to upgrade for long term then you might as well "do the damn thing"-lol

Also mentioned before was making sure I have great power for these high end components. Would you guys disagree with the original mentioned common used amp, JL 300/2.............. I have been also researching the Zapco so share your thoughts on that as well. Thanks

Can $2K for Morel speakers be that much better than $600 for the Focals! That seems exorbinant for car audio in such a noisy car as the 350Z.
My vote is for................CDT Audio ES-620 GOLD - CDT Audio 6.5" Gold Series Component system at $7 bills.
Come on 16psibrick, you have to love those speakers! Heck just the CDT Audio HD-62 GOLD - CDT Audio 6.5" 2 Way Gold Series would be phenominal!
You gotta remember the enviroment these are going in!

I don't have any other high quality auditioning in car, but I like my CDT's. I'm glad you are narrowing down the list.
Isn't anyone else going to bring up that he probably should not put the tweets in the stock location? I know there are people that swear that is OK and sounds good to them but I'll never be convinced.
Have you researched that as well, mrpee1881 or have you overlooked that? Do what you want becuase this is a topic that will bring up big arguments but take it as more advice to consider!
Good luck with everything.

of course i am not comparing 2k morel supremos to 600 dollar focal polykevs, but he did list comparable priced ones...being that supremo against utopia, and hybrid against k2p, both are in teh same relatively price range in the lower 1k and 2k range. and my reponse was, out of those two tiered choices, i would pick morel over focal on both levels

as far as CDT goes, i honestly recognize they are a good speaker company, but i just havent really found them to my personal liking...again, i am not bashign at all, its just my personal taste...

my top three choices in speakers, if budget was not an issue:

in no particular order:

Morel Supremo
DLS Nobelium
AVI BSM

I am very happy with my Boston Acoustic Z6's (in my G35) and they fit within your $1k budget. I've deadened the heck out of my G (probably 60+ lbs of super dynamat) so road noise is at a minimum, which means I can really hear the components.

I used to have Polk 6500's, and when I changed to the BA's, there was a very noticeable improvement.

I think most of the choices are a bit "overkill" for hiphop.....but I've always been a fan of Morel.

If you're looking for loud, clear, music that can be heard from miles, have you considered horns? Looks like you have the budget.

Actually, I meant the MMC6500's, which are between the SR's and the DB's. Sorry for the confusion.

16psibrick - I don't plan on buying speakers of this caliber to make it sound like crap. I plan on getting an official amp to power them which I did list in the post and no one commented on them yet. I also do plan on deadening the entire door, trunk and just maybe if not too lazy the floor boards. For an HU I plan on the Pioneer Avic which there is suppose to be a D3 comming out in March and might wait for that.

Again 16psibrick, give me the benefit of the doubt I am doing my HW before spending boukou money. Terminology for mad loot. I posted highed speaks, narrowed it down to high end speaks matching class and came with some specs so again even though I don't mention other elements of the system, believe I might know just a little bit of what I am getting into.

But thanks for all you help thus far seeing you provided me with the most accurate info on my original posted question and do value your future insight on the issue since you are a professional installer with much experience.

Did you mean anything else by not shoving the speaks in then what I mentioned above?

bjr - thanks for your support, I agree with you on the tweets. Are the window post good enough or do you recommend the kick panel which I did not want to deaden.

05-Z - Yes its overkill for hiphop as there are many different types of hip hop. But thats not the only typ eof music I listen to and this isn't my main focus on gettign quality speakers. I also stated above that I am in no way looking for a competition speaker or not trying to playing music for a parking lot of people which also goes for being heard for miles. But with the HU i am geting and the ability for movies, not that I condone this while driving but there might be and added accentive for better speaks. So again i am not sure what your comment was all about.

my suggestions......

All of the above are great choices....I would pick morel myself....
now in terms of amps I would look into US Amps tube amps....if you seriously want insane clarity and lifelike sound you cannot beat them....I have ran US Amps in every competition vehicle I have owned...and they still work after 10 years....also look into getting some audio control products such as line drivers and EQT 30 band equalizers.....with a 1/8 octave test tone cd, radio shack decibal meter and some graph paper it's amazing how you can tune a system....if you really wanna win some sound quality systems you can look into a 3-band parametric eq and tune your components based on how they behave in your peticular install......I could talk for hours about how to tune a system...
