Default Amp Mounting

Just wondering where you guys mount your amps. I've got the Zenclosure, but i need a new spot to mount the amp. I had my old one mounted to the back of the box, but been told not to. Any suggestions?

I put mine where Sean suggests is a good place ("the hole behind the drivers seat, pop off the cover panel"). I built a rack to hold multiple components.

If that space is full (as seems to be your situation), you could use the very large glove-box behind the passenger seat. Again, building a rack will keep things neat and allow better utilization of the space. Hope I'm understanding your question and not just offering useless advice. --Spike

Under driver or passenger seat ? I personally got a 2nd glove box from my friend who took his out to mount a sub, and directly bolted it to the empty hole and then mounted amp like i would if it were in the glove box.

I just received this amp rack:

it's an easy solution and might give you enough room to fit the rest of your stuff too.

Looks like someone took my design and is making money off of it! Good for them.

There's a lot of room under there for amplifiers and other geedunk.

Can that single panel (where the Bose sub is on Touring models) just pop off, or do you have to take out the whole piece that stretches the width of the car?

If you've got a small amplifier you might get it in the hole but for my Infinity amps I needed to pull the whole back end apart. You can get an idea if your amp fits by measuring it and the hole. I'm not sure you need to pull the whole back end apart to get the bolts out that hold the subwoofer out - come to think of it yes you do.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I might have to rig up something behind the sub box. Its a nice amp, so i'd like to show it off a little lol.

I had a small amp, so i stashed it in the glovebox behind the passenger seat. And i have an Infinity Basslink behind the drivers seat too.
