here is the thing with ebay...

most of the guys listing DONT have it in stock, they are ebay vendors that just get things drop shipped from the distributor...

little are they aware that the dist are out of z1s, i know 90 percent of the ones listed on ebay have no actual product backing htem up, i know cuase i actually asked them...

they are holding out and continuing their listing in the hopes that the "backordered" status from their dist will change, but from waht i gathered at ces, that wont...

but he would want premium for it...full retail, meaning 2500 bucks...he knows wahts going on as well lol

That stinks, I need another one for my Xterra. A D2 or D3 wont cut it after using a Z1 in my Z. Then the Z2 will come out and I'll have to put that in the Z and move the Z1 to the Xterra.

b I want to make sure I understand ya correctly~ The Z1 doesnt have some legacy feature that make it more favorable than the upcoming Z2 right? They're being grabbed up simply because people want to have that trim of headunit sometime installed before March, so it's a time issue not performance?

lucky man justin but then again, you guys always sell in or around retail right?

lancaster: you are right, it doesnt, its just that if you think about it, from now till march (usually a bit later than announced but hopefully not) is a long time for a nation to do with out something like the Z1, considering that the only suitable alternative is the elcipse unit, whcih i personally dont like as much...

Aww man.. I should've gotten that last year! I remember seeing them going for less than $1500 in a lot of online stores that I found through pricegrabber. Now the cheapest that I see is over $1600! I guess I'll just wait till the Z2 comes out, then I can get the Z1 for like $1000! In the mean time, I'm burning that money on body kits....

also, the whole reason why pioneer is doing this is so they wont have much, if any Z1s left whent he Z2s comeout, so dont count on super discounted Z1s, and if there are, i would be worried about them being fake knockoffs from asia (have heard about these)

I dunno man, even 2 Circuit Citys near me have it in stock. Though I believe Pioneer isn't sending any more out, and it's just a matter of time before supply is gone.. it seems like they're still readily available.
