He sells two types of music vidoe format CDs, DVD and S.Custom... for "promotional reasons" and a price to the buyer.

You are able to pick 25 of the normal DVD and 80 for the S.Custom CD. My question is what format does he burn the CDs in? (he'll send you a test CD but doesn't state the format)

 

no body has any ideas?

I e-mailed the guy but of coruse his "Special Custom DVD" is a secret format.

Of course you could use some program to convert music videos to DVD then shrink it until it fits on the DVD... but that wouldn't make it not work on some DVD players and apparently these "special" ones do not work on some DVD players

 

Why would you want video's that compressed, they will look like a** ! Best solution, get a car pc like me with over 200g hd you can fit quiet a bit of music videos right on the hard drive.

 

Well I do not want to and wouldn't... I was simply stating that the only way I knew how to do something like that was to compress them. He states that the video are of comparable quality and that its a "special format."

 

im sure the vids are encoded in svcd or vcd(eww) format in order to fit that many.

divx/xvid would be a better codec to use without sacrificing quality too much, but the chances of someone's dvd player, let alone car dvd player, supporting those formats is pretty unlikely.

so yea, svcd or vcd is my guess.

you could encode and burn your own music videos using Nero Digital/Vision, the hard part is actually finding all the videos you want in a good quality to begin with. lol

car pc is another good option. but nothing beats just popping in a disk when it comes to utility.

 

Download your own videos and make your own CD's.. Just use a regular CD and put like 8 videos on it or whatever.... No need for 80 vids on 1 cd.

Sounds like he ripped a bunch of stuff in various formats, converted as needed, and created his own DVD. It's not too tough really. I would suspect the quality is hit-or-miss though.

Yeah, I suspect he has simply burnt a bunch of VCD-quality MPEG videos onto a DVD-R. If they're from a digital source and not a VHS-tape copy...things should look pretty good.

DVD players have issues with different types of media (DVD-R or DVD+R) most often. I would think he would have a DVD menu for the videos? If not, some players have issues when there is no table of contents per se.
