hey all,

i have a pair of a/d/s component speakers from my old car that i was thinking of installing in the front. i read somewhere in one of the thread that you have to install a 1" spacer ?.. does that mean i have to use the grills from the a/d/s.. i really want to keep the stock grills on the z. is this possible with the following dimensions ? also, what about the tweeters? any advice will be appreciated..

Woofer Diameter: 6.5" (165mm)
Mounting Depth Woofer: 2-7/16" (63mm)
Mounting Hole Diameter: 4-15/16" (125mm)

Mounting Depth Tweeter: 3/4"
Tweeter Depth: 1" (25.5mm)
Tweeter Hold Diameter: 2 3/16"

Do not use the stock grills!!! They are terrible as there are perforations on only about half the grill. Here's a post I did on it (please, you touch my monkey now, yes?) and here is a picture from the post (if you just don't feel like opening another window).

 

Thanks anyone2u.. i didn't even considered that.. i will definately use the a/d/s grills.. do you know if the dimensions on the speakers will fit the space on the door? do you happen to know the dimensions? thanks for your reply in advance!

 

I don't, as I had someone do it for me, but I know there are other threads with the dimenions. Do a Thread Search and type in front door speaker and install or installation or instal* (I'm pretty sure *wildcards* work here). Good luck.
