Default XM roadster install One more try before I give up

So for about a year now ive been looking to install XM in my 2006 roadster via something more than RF converter. I have the factory BOSE with navigation so I have been trying to avoid upgrading the whole system. The add-on unit that works with the hardtop to give RCA in is not compatible with the roadster. I bought one and soon realized after taking it all apart that although there are 2 places to plug it in in the back neither one supports the plug. I tried inline RF and it sucks. I tried regular RF and belive it or not it SOUNDED better but the reception was always in and out couldnt find a good frequency to use. I havent found an installer that has seen this done before . this is my last gasp for help on this one. Has anyone done this. my search comes up empty. If I just need to face the facts and change out my head unit. Can i maintain the NAV and have the voice flow thru an aftermarket system... Any Help is appreciated
