I am working on installing my stereo, i was gonna use the smart harness but the 6800dvd has a sightly diff then the reg pioneer connector. So i am gonna make my own. If i leave the speaker out of the deck pluged in to the harness in the car will that mess up the bose amp. I am gonna be use the preouts.

Yes if I understand what you're going to do.

Speaker levels can be 15-20 volts where the line level input to the Bose is closer to 0.7 to 1 volt. You'll likely smoke the Bose amplifier the first time you turn the music up.

You've got 20 wires to solider.

You've got four wires to by-pass on the Bose sub-woofer amplifier.

You've got 16 more to connect for the four channel amplifier.

If you cross or short any of these wires you have the very good potential of blowing your head-end's amplifier.
