Default Stock Bose stereo...

I have an 03 with the bose system. Does anybody think that this system is lacking in high and low EQ. It just seems like you have to crank the **** out of it to make it sound good. also, when its about medium volume its not that impressive. I really love Bose and now im a bit skeptical.

Just type Bose in the search menu.

BOSE= Better Off with Something Else!

No Highs, No Lows, it must be BOSE!

+1. A new headunit makes all the difference in the world.

There is this one guy from California who replace the Bose audio. I forgot his name.

I replaced my HU with a double DIN Sony unit from Japan and added a pair of 10" woofers, sounds excellent. Note: You will need to buy a converter to do this and if you have a factory NAV like me some other mods will be needed to make everything function correctly.

+1 Just switch out the head unit with a good aftermarket one. This will improve the quality and sould of the system 200%. I have an '03 and I replaced my factory deck with an Eclipse in dash, and the sound is AMAZING now, even with all bose factory speakers and sub.

I came to the same conclusion. The sound is blah unless you crank up the volume. The problem with that is it hurts my ears, my seat-back vibrates, and I swear it's causing my windshield to develop hair line cracks.

It's terrible at all levels, and adding a new HU does make it sound better, but if your gunna add that just throw in some new 6.5 componets and the difference is huge. Right now I have an alpine hu and JL components with the stock Bose and its good, but not enough.

Just bought a JL stealthbox brand new for 500 from sound advice and the JL 500/1 amp for 430. In my case, I believe I'll have the best bang for your buck as the entire setup will have cost less than 2k and I never lifted a finger, actually made money while it was being worked on.
