Default Wiring problem

Everytime i hook up my headunit I blow up my tail light fuse.
All speakers work so im sure all the wires are connected right.
There are 2 wires im not using and just left them off.

Why do i blow up the tail light fuse every time I connect radio?

The green and white are for the antenna amplifier. If you don't hook it to power you won't be able to get reception on weak stations. I connected it to the power anntena output of my head unit.

This won't solve your problem but when you get the power solved this will be next.

ummm sounds like you tapped into the tail light power line and are overloading the fuse... dont see any other reason why your tail lights would be selectivly targeted if they are in no way related... when the tail light fuse blows, does the stereo go out too?

no the radio keeps playing.
and the only wires i used were the original ones from stock radio.
yellow being the power supply.
i dont get it either and so doesnt the mechanic at nissan, i asked what tail light circuit can possibly have to do with the radio circuit.
As soon as i dissconnect radio all is well.
i was thinking maybe im not hooked up to ground, hell i dunno im no electrician and running out od 10 Amp fuses

hmmm, thats really wierd... perhaps the 2 things share a common wire somewhere? still doesnt explain it. I would guess coincedence but it doesnt blow if you disconnect the stereo...

there is an illumination wire in that harness somewhere. it' part of the parking light circuit. When you turn on the parking lights it will show 12v so the radio will know to dim. if that is used as a ground (which is a common mistake for diy) then it could have something to do with your problem. or if it's left bare where it could touch a ground. Are you using a meter to check these wires? why not just use a $10 metra harness? all the wiring is correct on the metra harness and then there would be no wiring cut. Or you could reconnect all the factory wiring and use the metra harness as a wiring guide.

ahhh...maybe thats it. i dont have a meter, im just using a 12v lightbulb.
i tested the wires with it and got 12 v on the power and ground im using now.
may its the dim/park you are speaking of and i need to swap those 2.
you think i can get 12v if i hook meter up to power and parking/dim wire and hence making a mistake??

Cars often use the same fuse for the tail lights and the dash illumination lights. My reasoning is they want you to know when your tail lights are out because of a blown fuse.

okiedokie
All put back together and everything working.
But
i hooked up the Ilummination wire to the radio.
Now when i turn on park lights or headlights the radio Dims.
Is that what its suppose to do.
Also gave the antenna amp some power and whoo hoo i got reception.

Yes, it's supposed to dim. Notice that all the other dash lights dim when you turn on the parking or headlights.
