Default Can I fix this at home?

I have a problem with the driver door panels in my Z. When i play music, the driver side door vibrates really bad in the middle (or something inside). If i hold the center, it stops vibrating. My passanger side door doesnt vibrate. Is it somethingspecific that commonly vibrates? How can i fix it? I was thinking about getting both the doors sound proofed, how much would that run me.

Hmm. You can easily take the door panels off and check behind them, but there's not much behind it that could rattle. Maybe the panels aren't on tight. Could be window parts related.

I have no idea. It is pretty simple though. There are only a few screws to deal with and the panel can be popped off. You may want to check the car audio section for details.

Mine does the same thing. Since the day i bought it, if the window is all the way up or all the way down, it'll rattle when i play any music with bass. It makes no noise when the window isn't 100% either direction.

Dynomat just sticks on to whatever you're putting it on. Just peel and stick.

Could be the window motor or the plate that it attaches to. Heres some pics

Pre sound deadening

Make sure you cut out the holes around all the bolts and plate as you might need to access the window motor later on

Really simple to do, heres another shot

I did the entire car in E-dead from firewall to rear. I have read some disappointing reviews of E-dead though(I have not had any problems with e-dead), so you might want to check out this site for Damplifier http://www.secondskinaudio.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi

did it make a nice difference in sound? I think the major producers of outside sound in the Z is the doors, the trunk and the tire fenders. When i first drove the Z over rocks i was like WTF is that noise. Turned out to be pebbles hitting the fenderwall in the rear.

Theres some really good tutorials on 350ztech.com to remove the door skins. I've already taken mine off a few times, its not too bad.

Yeah my car has this problem too.
A friend of mine had this same problem in his clk350, and the dealership had to take the door panel off and tighten up some loose parts. They said the window motor was loose or sumthing, wouldn't say much.

I'm gon open up my door once I get frustrated enough.
Plumpzz did you fix your "buzz" yet? Let me know wat u had to do so that I could follow the same procedures.

I think the main culprit of noise in the Z is the huge cavity behind the seats. Yes there is a flimsy think piece of material (pretty ineffective) laying in there but, the rest of the cavity in there acts like a bell because of the wheel wells being so close. You go in that area with about 20-30 square feet and you will be amazed at the difference. You can actually have a conversation in the car without too much effort.

Any other areas you treat will certainly decrease the noise level, but no other area of the car improved as much IMO.

I have this exact same problem. It only occurs on my driver's side door as well when I play music. If I push on the armrest portion, it stops vibrating. Let me know what you find out. If it's a simple fix, I'd rather do it at home.

im going to guess it has something to do with the fact that the driver side door doesnt have bracing for the handle (like the passanger side).
