You may want to wait until the 205 comes out which is in March I believe.

its going to cost similar, but with some improvements.

to be perfectly honest, for a nice double din dvd player only with out nav, i personally prefer the pioneer 6800, whcih is a 6 disc in dash dvd changer with a nice screen:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...671418,00.html

you should be able to find it for less than 1000 online if you shop around...the interface IMO is better than the alpine, and with 6 disc in dash, its nice.

the iwa200 is a nice pice dont get me wrong, but overall features, i prefer the pioneer one and yes, the 205 takes care of some issues the 200 had, and will come out in a month or two?

I recall reading that the D1 and D2 Nav isnt so good. Anyone have experience with the D3's Nav? And any opinions on the D3 IPOD interface?

I was leaning towards getting the Alpine W205 when it comes out. I assume the Nav should be pretty accurate and i guess it would be kind of cool to have the portable option as well.(although i dont see myself using it as a portable too often) And it seems that Alpine has the best IPOD interface. (Atleast when it comes to single din units.) I just would like to see the whole name of artist/title etc. as well as easy navigation through albums/playlists/songs.

News to me...I'll have to go and check it out. Pioneer doesn't even show that it's out yet.

yea, it seems that they are the only ones that say they have it in stock. maybe its a preorder thing........ have no idea.

But it does seem like a pretty good headunit. i wonder how the nav will be?

I'm thinking of just waiting on the Alpine IVA-W205. Seems like a great unit.

I dont know but it seems like a pretty good price. i was leaning towards getting the IVA-205 mentioned above but it seems with the blackbird, it would be around $1500.00. So the D3 for $1000.00 has made me rethink what i want to get.

ahhhh, decisions, decisions.

Since IPod connection is number one on my list, I am going with the Alpine. If it weren't for that, I'd do the D3 I think.

It does not come with a remote.
It is a 6.1" screen that does not angle.
It does not support any USB devices
It is a DVD based Navigation that uses two disc to cover the country and requires removal of the disc to listen to CD or DVD.
If you are using it with an IPOD Video, you must start the video thru the Ipod not the screen.

still nota bad price at all in my opinion.. i saw a video online of it and the ipod stuff looked pretty awesome.. they have gone to the same style as alpine with full speed and just one cable to plug in... i like the video capability even if you do have to start it from the ipod... where else are you gonna get dvd nav and touch screen for that kind of price?

Good points.

Also... Notice how the competition is dropping prices over even the last two days. The "double-din" "all-in-one" navigation boxes are in free-fall as far as SMRP's go.

To answer the original question, check out www.woofersetc.com I would buy from them any day and they have fairly decent prices.

You can find the W200 way cheaper than what they offer it for.
