Lets see,,,you said you checked your fuse....Now, did you check the fuse panel in the car and the inline fuse of the headunit(wire harness). I know for Alpine,,,the yellow usually has the inline fuse built in.

Also,,if you checked your stock headunit as well as aftermarket,,and no power ,,that narrows it down to the car more than likely. I hope this helps.

PS. Dont tap the ground wire for sparks,,,,,,get a meter and measure...

Possible faults:

1) You're connecting to a power source that is not "hot." There could be all sorts of reasons for this (e.g., a blown fuse, connecting to the wrong power wire, etc.)
2) You have not established a reliable ground.

Since you report that the stock deck is not working (and if that is accurate… you know for sure), I would think you can eliminate a blown in-line fuse in the Alpine unit.

You really need to use a test instrument (to measure voltage and amps). Tapping wires (ground or hot) can introduce other variable (and even failures).

I do know how frustrating this can be, but I also know (from my own experiences) that you will get it working. When you do solve the problem, please post how you fixed it (to this thread). --Spike
