of course this is the home amp I am running and it is pretty boring looking to

and this is what I grew up with listening to, and it (all Mac stuff) looks like it was built in the 60s, but It sounds ohhhhhhh so nice.

Couple of possibilities.
1. if you are going to buy an ugly car that performs well, why worry about the fact the HU is ugly as long as it performs well.
2. Maybe not everybody sees their HU's as ugly.

I noticed some dissed the blue light. Well not only do I think blue light looks better, I certainly can see it better in the daytime than the orange from stock setup or cda-7894.

oh yeah I have a CDA-9815. Guess it looks bad but it has pretty blue lights and I have clean sounding system which is what I wanted. To each thier own.

BTW, I really wanted a head unit that matched amber at first. However, once I lit up the CDA-9815 I thought the blue looked *really* slick and high-tech. I'm completely satisfied.

I certainly agree since I wanted the blue 7995 from start. It was not available where I purchased it from at time so I got 7894. lucky for me since 9815 came out in the meantime. Worked out great fro me and thr HU works and looks great. I feel it also a better unit than 7894. imo

Question Problem....help!

Alpine CDA 7897 and Alpine NAV

Just returned from a 1200 mile trip and found that the sound shuts off for about 3 seconds and this happens every 30 minutes to an hour. It also happens with the CD. What's the problem? There is also a buzzing sound when the voice on the NAV comes on.....could the two problems be related?

Thanks for any help!

What kind of amp do you have. I have had a similar case years ago where the amp will over heat and shut off for a few minuts whan it got hot.

Does the JL Audio 300/4 has any warning light? You can call Alpine support at 800-421-2284, they should be able to tell you if it's your HU or AMP.

I bought the deck from Value. I paid a little less then a g for it. It is still installed in my CL-S. It plays MP3, and the inteface is almost identical to the CDA-7998. It also has a built in MD player. Very nice deck, I'm verry happy with it.

Does it have the correct frequencies for US FM radio?

No it doesnt, but I found a fm modulator that converts the MHZ by 20. So 76.3 on the deck=96.3 That doesnt bother me all. Also when you can fit over 100 or so mp3s on one cd, you hardly use the radio
