total parts cost on it should be about 50-60 percent higher than what you listed. not to mention if he did full car dampening thats another few grand.
but looking at the pics, i would have to agree a little bit...i think that install shouldnt cost 22k...I think i can probably pull that one off for about 10-15k (depending on dampening, power requirements and a few other things) and use the same level of not better sounding equipment
either way, back on topic...in the Z, i dont thin kyou should be looking at porting a 12w7...unless you just want to loose as much trunk space as possible and also weight it down as much as possible
why not get a sealed understrut box that holds a 12? i think a few placse make a curved fiberglass one...

OK, even at MSRP of what i could find........
2 jl 12w7 - $1700
2 jl 1000/1 - $2000
2 jl 300/2 - $960
2 sets mb quart qsd series 6.5" seperates - $3000
1 "the cap" 15 farad cap - $500
1 ohio generator 140amp (i believe) alternator - $700
2 optima batteries - $320
1 kenwood excellon 911dvd deck - $1200
0 gauge wiring and so forth - $500
Equals $10,880........still leaves $11,120 for labor............
My point was that the install was extremely expensive for what was installed.

that sounds about right. What screwed me was that I did my audio in stages. first stage was 2 12's and only 1 amp in a custom box. Next stage, I added another amp for the subs, the mb quartz, and the 2 300/2's. Had to build another enclosure for that one (just not the subs) and a custom amp rack that would clear my strut bar and still look good. third stage was the deck. had 4 and 5 planned...but i decided to get more power instead.
