HELP!! Amp question
Not really needing help, but I would like to solicit some opinions/advice.
I have just purchased almost everything for a new stereo and now I am stuck on wether or not to go with 2 two channel amps for the front door and rear speakers or 1 four channel to run them all. I already have the speakers. For the door I went with Polk MOMO MMC 6500 and for the rear deck I chose the Polk DB 675.
The amplifiers that I am considering for this are: 1 four channel Alphasonik PMA 4150, OR 1 Alphasonik PMA 2075A for the rears and 1 PMA 2150A for the front speakers. I already have an Alphasonik amp powering an Alphasonik subwoofer, so Im not willing to change my choices in amps.
Which setup should I go with??

In addition to the sub, I would only use the fronts but, that is just my opinion based on the information that I gathered when I upgraded the audio in my car last summer. The rears don't really seem to do much since they fire into the backs of the seats

I think that it doesn't really matter if you use a 2 or 4 channel amp. Just get something that is powerful enough for all the speakers. It sounds like you can either get 2 low power 2 channels or 1 high power 4 channel. I would go with the 4 channel to save space and time.
I am all about keeping the rear speakers. I think unless you are going with some real high dollar speakers you won't really lose any quality. I fade mine from middle to front and I think that the middle setting sounds 10x better than just the fronts. Fade it all the way to the front for a few days to try it out and then put it back in the middle and you will think you have a whole new sound system.

Okay..to further complicate things, the fronts are rated at 125W RMS while the rear 2 are a measly 60W RMS. If I put them all on 1 four channel those 2 in the back will get fried..right? Thats why I wanted two seperate amps, plus I read somewhere its better to have 1 amp per speaker...cant remember why though

^^ i just bought those same speakers in the front. I also bought speakers for the back rated at 80rms. I use JL 450/4 ... the front are 150 rms and the back are 75 rms.. I think this amp match up nicely to what i have. I know you dont wanna change amps but i wanted to let you know what i did and have.

no
if your stuck on front and rear set up
and 4 ch
get a RF punch 450.4
feed your fronts 150 rms clean
feed your rears 1/2 gain about 75 watts rms clean
i run a 2 ch type RF x2 to a pair of type rf 6.5 comps and 1.1" tweets no rear at all and front stage is sharing about 400 watts

Alphasonik 12 in. sub 2200W RMS-

I went with Polk for the front and rear soundstage and really want to match the amps up. There is a lot more stuff being thrown in my Z...rear back up camera, DVD, seperate Nav system, and extra battery.
JL makes solid products, but I wanted to go down the road less traveled here. I havent seen any Alphasonik stuff here anywhere and I like to "NOT" follow the crowd. I have a nice pair of Nakamichi 10" subs from waaaaay back in the day to prove it!
That amp sounds tempting because of the seperate front and rear power ratings, but I think I will just buy 1 amp for the front and 1 for the rear. The price difference is only $100 to have three amps instead of two.
