Default Sony CDX-MP70 head unit/dash kit?

I have searched multiple times/ways and cannot find info regarding this head unit. I have ordered the Sony CDX-MP70 for my Z and would like to hear anything anyone has to say about it. Also, what dash kits would you recommend? The only kit I see people talking about is Metra. Is it going to fit with this unit? I have seen everyone using it with Alpine only. Are there other kits out there that look/fit better? What else will I need for the install? Thanks.

That HU was actually my first choice before I went with an Alpine 7893. Looks very nice in person, I think this is the only Sony HU i would buy that is outside of the Explode line. Found it on ebay for around $260, how much u get it for?

I found it using the Pricegrabber search engine for $270 I believe, but I actually ended up with a "buy-it-now" from Ebay for $263 brand new.

The only dash kit currently available for the 350Z is the Metra kit. All other headunit installs you might see on this website that don't use the Metra kit are custom fabrications. However, the Metra kit will work for this single DIN headunit.

The metra kit is single din only? Not double!?

I just put the MDX-MP70 in my 350z Dash. The Metra kit is a Single Din case..... With cuby whole below, which is great for me being I have some storage in front of me, instead of all the rear bays...

Thus far, I have replaced the factory POS sub, and replaced it with a Rockford Fosgate Sub and Amp combo with Gain control, XM Delphi unit in Nav comp. hooking into Aux in on Sony so it's a direct feed, (NO FM Modulator) and now this Sony Head unit... My system has now come alive... 10 times better than the crappy Bose system!!!
