Default Interface Update

Well after four month of coding and procrastination the interface (code name Fairlady) is about 85% done.

Currently here are the functions:

MP3 player. Uses Folders as playlist

Music Video / Movie Player. Uses Folders as Playlist

DVD Player. Will play DVD's, VCD's, MP3, and/or Video. *must have dvd software already install to play DVD's.

GPS Nav launcher. Given the different GPS setup out there, decide to launch installed program rather than embed one.

Camera.

Cell Phone Interface. Uses AT command compatible cell phones. Loads stored phonebook.

Everything list is also voiced command. Still have to work on switch between webcams and error trapping before its finished (but sooo close )

Here are a few screen shots, will make a video demo when finished.

Yes the girl move. Her lips move when she talks, and her head moves as well

Can't wait to install my PC (weather is bad). my logo isn't on the final program.

Still have to figure out some way to mount the rear view cam. Have some ideas, but still have to figure it out

alphared, interface looks good. Big buttons are helpful. I'm assuming when you play videos it's in fullscreen mode and can be switched to a window mode if needed? Also are you planning on adding some visualizations for the MP3 player, the kind Winamp has. Some cool effect that react to the music would be awsome.

BTW, what cameras are you installing in your car? I plan on doing that as well along with connecting a motor to it so I could rotate the camera from the front console while driving.

Would it be possible to make this work in other vehicles? And how much are you targeting to sell these for?

I am seeing this as something of an aftermarket version of MB's system. Please provide as many details as you possibly can, as I am looking at different screen set-ups and am currently favoring the Clarion VRX925VD. If you were to give me a sales pitch, what do you offer compared to the Clarion? I dont need the phone, camera or GPS, as i have a cell, a digital cam in the glove box (for taking pictures of my "kills") and a Thomas Guide. Are there different background images? The chick looks kinda freaky to me.

I am very interested, but need more info.

If you could make this system and replace the chick with the Knight Rider red LED's flashing as the system "speaks"...that sir would be awesome.

Maxima - YES! If you hire that guy that does the voice, he was Mr. Feeny on "Boy Meets World," I would pay that much more! If you could record your name so that it speaks to you using your name, I would worship you forever.

YES!
YES!
YES!
YES!

bonus points for changing the background to a crappy macros of David Hasselhoff.

As well as these classics.
"Miiiiiiiich-ael, KARR has weakenend my molecular bonded shell."
"Miiiiiiiich-ael, super pursuit mode is active."
"Miiiiiiiich-ael, please ask Bonnie to blow my engine as well."

okay, that's it. I am sold. I will get my Clarion for music and will figure out a way to put the KITT macros on an LCD screen in the nav cubby. That still leaves a a single din space under the Clarion HU for wallet, phone, gum, etc. I'll work in the row of red flashing leds somewhere as well.

Score +1

I have also decided that my z's color will be black (i was on the fence about different colors) with the gold te37s. Oh yes, it shall be mine.

Hey Max (can i call you max?) - did you ever see "Team Knight Rider" from like 4-5 years ago? It was fantastic. The show was sponsored by Ford, so the 4 or 5 people on "Team Knight Rider" each had a different Ford vehicle. They would talk about Michael all the time in the show, but he, of course, never made an appearance. I loved that show, for the month that it was on...
