Default cheap custom navi - how to

whats up guys? i wanted a navi but i didnt want to spend too much at the time (MONTHS ago), so i bought a $300 magellan. it wasnt til a week ago that i thought, why not make it look stock? well anyways, here it is.

cluster lid, leather material, exacto knife, navi

stencil

then cut leather or any type material to act as vinyl over navi cover (my cover is an old binder)

superglue is good

then what i did was for the cover i had just made, took apart cluster lid and placed the cover in between the boxed compartment and actual lid itself, then reconnected it. also, i drilled a hole at the bottom of the box compartment so that i could hard wire the audio and power cords. heres finished product.

sorry, pics arent good and write up isnt but hope you get the idea.

tell me what you guys think, and if you want ill show you how i do the audio too, (when more time comes around for me). -vince

That's a pretty good job, is it easily removable so you can update it?

thanks. no its not easily removable, so i have to take it apart completely to update it. but you gave me an idea, next time i take it apart, im going to add a usb port that connects from the navi and have the wire run through hidden somewhere so when i do need to update it, ill just connect it to my laptop..
