Installing Amp- 4 or 8 guage
Hey everyone,
iwas told by the shop who is going to install my audio equip. that there is really no need to run 4 guage wire and 8 guage would be fine for the amps I am using, wich are JL 300/2 and Jl 500/1. I know 4 guage is about double the price, but is it worth it.
Thanks,
Matt

Definitely run 4 gauge and with both those amps mounted in the trunk (taking the farthest distance in the car and assuming 100amps draw) you'll almost need 0 gauge (with maybe a foot or two to spare).
I would run 4 to a distribution block then run 8 from there out... Just remember to get a fused block and make sure you add up the amps for each fuse on the block, make sure it = the amout of amps that you put in the block right after the bat... I hope this is to confussing...
