Alright, well I've had some of these components laying around for over a year and a half. The subs & box I've had for over 6 months..

ORIGINAL POST:
https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/201925-they-see-me-rollin.html

I finally got my Z and this was basically the 1st thing I've done to it.. test pipes and hks on the way ..

COMPONENTS:

AMPS:
JL Audio 500/1
JL Audio 300/4 (my 20GB empeg doesn't have a preamp)

SUBS:
2x Sound Splinter Rl-i10's

HEADUNIT:
20GB Rio Empeg

BOX:
TCCustomz (edited) 350z Sub Box

I have to say the hardest thing about this project was sanding down the sub box.. maybe my subs were unusually large in diameter but I sanded for honestly 3 hours between the 2 holes and got no where.. I went to my friends and he bought the correct tool and it only took 15 minutes or so, you'll see in the progress pics.. This system gets pretty loud, it's amazing!! ENJOY!!

My hardworking 19 year old cousin's Z06 (he pays for his car.. and ZX-14 )

PROGRESS PICS:

COMPLETE!!! besides the faceplate

I have an appointment this wednesday for TINTING:

15% on SIDES
35% on WINDSHIELD
5% on REAR WINDSHIELD (because of the amps)

THANKS FOR LOOKING!! And thanks to nick ex-350z owner, without this guy, I wouldn't have finished this thing!!

what's the deal with the Rio headunit? closer pics? how did you install? Is it an actual headunit or just an MP3 hard drive player?

alright.. I think they started making these in the UK like over 10 years ago.. they discontinued them at least 4 years ago.. so there's only a few floating around every once in awhile.. It's basically a laptop hard drive, I'm told you can swap them and put up to 2 in one unit. It plays mp3's and wma's.. A lot of people think it's outdated but besides the overly expensive "phat box" there isn't much that comes close to it. It suits my needs pretty well because I'm the kind of person switching genre's and artists after every song when I'm by myself at least.. it's difficult to do that with cd's, especially when you randomly want to hear a song that pop into your head.

i read post

2 each sound splinter 10" subs 600 rms each

so you pushing 20 " of cone with about 500 watts

with only 1 500 mono Jl

if it was 1000 mono jl you be closer to full rms

i can guess that you will hit 140 legal 143 outlaw

hope fully see you there

very interested to see how 20" @ 500 watts sealed VS. 12" @ 2200 watts ported

good match up

Isn't it going to be SO hot in your car with those hot a$$ amps right behind you like that? It seems like it would...looks pretty good, although I'm not big on how it protrudes out real far taking up trunk space. You probably don't put much back there, but it makes for less than normal. You might have to run the AC more to keep cool, which will make your whip slower than pond water.

I haven't felt any heat yet, I'm getting dark tint tommorow so it should only be better. When I really care about speed, the a/c is off and I'll pull out the box I guess.

Yeah, i have the stock Bloze system, have no idea about shows...just being a jerk and quoting all the pics to **** some people off b/c someone else did that. Basically...it was just not necessary to quote the post (especially the photos) just to say i live in nowheresville and we have audio shows...could have just said it or quoted a few text lines.

Anywho, i am going to do some work to my car when the w205 comes out. I have some Phoenix Gold Comp Ti 6.5 components, Elemental Design 7 inch subs (going in the stock component location behind the seats) and a Xenon 200.4 amp that i will use to power it all.

I'll probably post up some stuff when i get it done, it won't be for a while though...i still have to pull it all out of my firebird.
