does look a bit small for ported

appears to be a JL 4 ch 450-4 on mids and highs

and jl on lows but can't tell how big or if that is the only bass amp

i would like to hear more from the owner

Yes the 450/4 is for the components, i was actually just under 1.4 cu. ft. per sub on the enclosure (thats also taking into account the displacement of the sub itself) I extended the length of the port to hopefully compensate for the lack of desired air space wich idealy would have been 1.5 cu. ft. per sub. the following pics show me test fitting the enclosure in the car and also the inside of the box showing the port before i lengthened it. if you guys have any more ?'s or want more pics let me know.

if you did 144.1 and it was an audio control mic then you would yeild about about 142 on a term lab mic

on the other hand if it was a term lab mic than you would yeild about 146 on an audio control mic

i am gonna db drag on April 15 let you know were i am at

your running around 1000 watts to 24 "
i am running about 2300 watts to 12"

interesting to see the difference

are you running 0 awg ?

if you run a JL 1000/1 to each sub you can get your score up by 2-3 db

yep that will be a very interesting comparison, i don't think i will be stepping up to the 1000/1 amps any time soon although that would be an awesome improvement. I ran 0 awg to a distribution block located below one of the 500/1's where it splits to three 4 awg for each amplifier. I have no idea wich mic was used although now knowing what you told me i definately want to find out. what are the rest of the specs on your setup?

no

12w7 Sd = 550cm^2
2 x 12W7 Sd = 1100cm^2

pi*r^2 ... solve for r ... r = ~37.5cm or 14.75"

Cone for 14.75" is about ~ a 16" sub.

/Corrections

edit for me = retard .. he is running 10W7s

386 cm^2 per driver ... so 772

~31.5cm = r = 12.5"

So 14" cone

I am finger pointing because you ARE wrong.

2 10" cylinders that are 2" tall do not hold the same volume as one 20" can that is 2" tall.

This is about volume displacement. Surface area x stroke (my random 2" number) ... he does NOT have a 20" cone area ... its more like a 14" cone.

like i said i have no idea about your equation

i am saying this kid has 2 each 10" subs

these subs in an spl competion = 20 " of cone

i have no idea how to figure volume nor have i ever had the need

if you understand what i am saying when comparing mine to his in an spl comp which is what i and he are talking about

i say he has 1000 watts more or less and he is pushing that power to 2 each 10" subs so when he enters his car it would be outlaw hatch and most likely
19" to 24"

and i am saying mine is about 2200 watts more or less to 1 each 12"
mine is outlaw hatch 0" to 18"

i said it would be an interesting comparision

i can't explain what i meant any better

he and i know what i mean

also the thread is titled 12" w7 than he respondes to me saying 10" w7

Off topic from the debate... but from the pics it looks like you cut chunks out of your rear sway to fit the enclosure in?
