Default My stock alarm is F***** up

for some reason my car keeps going off in the middle of the night for no reason
so freaking annoying, my neighbours are getting irritated
dont wanna have to get rid of it just because of this
anyone know how to diagnose this problem?

ya i have a cF hood
i think that was the problem, but dont know how to assess the situation

well i sleep beside my car(garage is beside it)
so im gonna pop my hood and see if its that causing it, hopefully it wont go nuts again
if it doesnt, what should i do?

im wondering if i get a compustar, will it detect where the ****s coming from?
im sure when it goes off compustar will show me where the "break in" is occuring lmao

Mine started doing this one day too. I disconnected the negative battery term and let it sit for awhile.

let it sit for awhile....then?
i dont think simply disconnecting it and reconnecting works, cause i did that, lmao
started honking in the middle of the night after again

you have a hood sensor on your passenger side. If your hood is not making full contact, then it will go off. Trust me mine did this.

Very hard problem to diagnose, I had this exact problem with my last car. The dealership put almost $700 in parts on two visits to fix. I fixed it by getting rid of the car. BTW it was an OEM alarm. Could be time for a new battery

ah ok
yea i dont recall it doing this before with the oem hood
i will pop the hood tonight and see what happens, lol

Just try disconnecting the hood pin all together. This will at least tell you if that is the problem. Occasionally those sensors go bad and cause false alarms.

There are only 4 sensors it can be, the two door sensors, the trunk, or the hood. The hood is the least durable due to its design and it is where I would start first.
