Try to put everything back together. Maybe its a little paranoia(I get that too after I do some sort of install)

Hard to say with your explanation. If you can be more indepth about your install, maybe we can shed some light.

i first took it to best buy and had an line output converter hooked up then came home and unhooked my battery ran my rca cables remote wire and ground...then hooked my amp up and installed the fuse on the power wire and conected the power wire then conected the negative battery cable back..its just a slight humming and sounds like its comin from below the battery on the engine side

Hmm...since someone else worked on the car, there's really no telling what could have been done.

First off, the voltage should only be 12 volts (really around 12.6-ish) when the key is on, but the engine is not running. It should go up to 14.4-ish volts with the engine running.

The humming noise - I had that too and my assumption was that it was something to do with fuel (pump or something?). Maybe some type of calibration since the power was disconnected? I didn't hear it anymore after I drove the car for the first time after hooking the battery back up.

Perhaps the engine is on. Check the tach.

Na its not the engine, its coming from the alternator or fuel pump.
