I know this topic has been brought up many times, but I've SEARCHED and have not been able to find any success stories on a clean install of a 7" lcd into a 2006 cubby.

I know there are some of you which went ahead and bought the 06+ nav center console and pulled it off. It looks great but unfortunately I don't think I can live with having non functional nav buttons.

There are some posts which recommend swapping for a 03' cubby but I have read just as many posts stating it did not go very well due to the 06 **** placement.

The JDM motorized cubby kit supposedly works but there are 1/4 inch gaps which would annoy the crap out of me as well.

Is there anyone out there that pulled off a clean lcd -> 06 cubby install without puchasing one of those custom center console kits / 06 nav console?

The best way to go at this would be to take it to a shop to modifying the stock cubby more nicely than the DIY's on the forum. (IhMO)
