Default Aftermarket Nav reliability

Well after searching and reading alot of post I have noticed that the in-dash double din lcd's are popular. I've figured out what i would need if i do decide to go down this path. Now my question is for those of you that have had them, or currently have them, how have they held up? Have the screens cracked, or buttons faded or fallen off? Have you had any major issues come up or had to deal with they warrenty? Thanks everybody.

Are you asking about headunits with nav built in or aftermarket standalone nav units?

Either way, I have had both and have zero complaints about them. No issues with screens or otherwise.

Yea, i was wondering about the head unis with built in Navi and the touch screens. because one of my freinds at circuit city said to buy insurance on em because the screen can crack, but he really did not elaborate much.

Insurance? Sounds like a typical salesman pitch.

I'm sure he's referring to an extended warranty; sometimes they don't even cover the screen. I never buy extended warranties anymore on items that are under $1,500. I figure if they go bad in the first year or what the manufacturer's warranty is, they were "cheap" enough to replace.
