I don't get it. I had a Pioneer Avic Z1 installed and then sent into warrentee. I tried to plug in my stock radio and I have no sound. The 2 black plugs on the radio are plugged in and the 2 white ones have no plugs. The shop that did my install can't figure out why there is no sound. I still have the factory bose amp plugged in and the sterio powers up and seems to work fine but I have no sound. WHY?
Avic Z1 -->aftermarket amplifier --> speakers = sound
Stock headend -->Bose amplifier ---> nothing = no sound
That would be my guess. It's likely that your AVIC Z1 had speakers connected to it. Unless you were using the AVIC with the Bose amplifier (bad thing). There are two types of output from the Pioneer - speaker and line level. I'd guess that if you spent the coin on the Z1 you bought a proper amplifier vice using the POS Bose amp. That would mean seperate wires to the aftermarket amplifier and that amp would be wired into (hopefully) aftermarket speakers.
Nothing Bose makes is worth keeping. The antenna is fine. The head end is barely passable. The amplifer is worthless. The speakers are less than worthless.
