Default Quick question about base amp

I tried a search without success....just a quick question. If I use an aftermarket head unit with a wiring harness, will the stock amp still work or will the head unit be driving the speakers by itself??

Default Radio question

If you use a harness to adapt the wiring from the dash the amp wil still be in place and driving the speakers, not the headunit. In some cases you can attain better sound by bypassing the factory amp and utilizing the power of the head unit. It just depends on the power and the quality of the after market radio.

The base system does not have seperate amps. They are built into the headunit. The Bose system does have seperate amps.
