By the way, what did you think about the rest of the thread. It's not like I'm out to set people's cars on fire.
The rest I liked! Good pictures and descriptions.

Nice how to.

Actually the latter is right, whether you're a car audio installer or a mechanic, it's always recommended to disconnect the negative terminal first. It's called electron flow (as oppose to conventional flow), and your entire chassis is one big conductive metal that completes the circuit.

Simply put, disconnect the positive first and the wrench hits the frame, you'll arc.

Disconnect the negative first, or the the positive 2nd, and hit the frame, nothing happens.

You guys win, 2 against one. I'll make the changes tomorrow. For now, I have to leave work.

The only additional hardware you purchase is the battery and shims. That is all.

Do not short between the battery posts, this is a once in a lifetime mistake. If done positive first your wrench is connect to the positive terminal and you have to avoid contact with the entire car which is grounded to include the too easy to hit battery mounts, the fender, motor parts, and the top of the firewall.

I most highly recommend doing negative first. I've learned to respect the dangers that unprotected (fuses) high current sources present. Be careful out there.
I have edited my original instructions to reflect this procedure. Thank you for the correct info.

Mine is on order, should have it on Monday. Oh just for info it was $138. Gotta love having someone with a wholesale account at the local Interstate Battery.

Thanks for the info.

Ahhh... 24.99 for my yellow top... part of my works great, get rid of any battery for used price that has sat for more than 6 months... I love when you find that little way to get back at your employer. I have yet to put it in, did the yellow top help any with voltage drop when your bass hits? Mine drops slightly currently, and I am hoping this yellow top fixes it.

Yes it did help, tremendously. It still fluctuates a bit, but nothing compared to the OEM battery.
