Default avic d1 installation... please help

hi,

I have 03 350z Bose without NAV. I just bought Avic D1. I am helping trouble installing it.

I have already bought the wiring harness and dash kit from crutchfield.com.

I have connected all the wires, but the unit does not power up.

please help me if you have a step-by-step installation guide of the AVIC D1.

thank you

did you hookt he ground wire of the avic-d1 to a grounding spot? there really isnt a ground in the harness. the d1 should come with a long ground wire on a little pronged connector, you need to find a metal spot to ground it.

if that doenst work, there should be a fuse somehwere, either on the yellow wire on the harness coming out of the d1, or on the unit itself, inspect ot see if its broken or not

and finally, on some pioneer units, cant remember the case about the d1, you need to plug the antenna in..make sure you have that taken care of

since you got a D1, i assume its used, so if nothing else works, then it could be a bad unit.

thanks for your reply. I hook up the ground wire of D1 to the black/white wire of the harness.

is it the right ground wire? it says "black/wire - amplifier shield ground" on the harness instruction.

yes, i bought it used.

I would ground the headunit to a direct ground away from the harness. That way,,,you know you have a good ground. Also,,,as Bing said,,,,,,some units require the antenna to be connected....

you could also try running the ground wire from the d1 to the chassis ground cable on the harness instead of the amplifier sheild ground cable

thank you for all your helps. I got power from D1 after grounding the d1 ground to the chassis.

My next problem is: I got sound when playing radio, but no sound when playing CD.

Would you please suggest what I should do?

thank you.

Have you tried a couple of different CD's?

Some home burners don't do the best job and the players have issues with them.

th8is sounds like you have bose...

and you have hooked the solid blue wire from the D1 (power ant.wire) to the blue wire w/white stripe on the adatper harness (amp turn on), for the bose cars, this blue/white wire needs to be energized in order for the bose amp to turn on and play.

what you need to do:

1. hook the solid blue wire from the d1 (power ant) to the SOLID blue wire coming from the adapter harness. make usre its SOLID blue.

2. hook the Blue/white wire coming from the D1 (remote wire), to the blue/white wire from the adapter harness.

again, make sure oyu have solid blue to solid blue, blue/whitestripe to blue/white
