Default Does the stock (non Bose) '07 system play MP3 Cd's?

I am pretty sure i saw on the manual that it does, however i have tried 2 different cd's...one in which I burned the files inside a folder, and another one just burning the mp3 files directly to the root of the CD. in both instances I can put in the Cd but it will not play...I see a 1 under the track number but there's no progress. Also if i try moving on to the next track or file....nothing happens, no volume either...Granted there's no error message either on the display but wont start playing either.....
Am I doing sometting wrong here? Is there a specific way the cd must be burned/organized?
Thanks!

My stock '06 unit will not play MP3's... same thing as yours. Says 1 for the track and does nothing. Manual says it will. Either it's the wrong bitrate or something or the manual is referring to the Bose unit only.

Ok, well at least i know it's not messed up.....and yeah the manual says it does, and i am pretty sure it says so when talking about the non-Bose unit, the Bose unit section starts a few pages later.....
Thanx!

try to burn it as acc file , in other word *.m4a extension .. see if it works. Itune converts file from mp3 to m4a for you.
