Looks sweet!

I am still waiting on Z enclosures to make a box for 2 12s that fits under the strut

it sounds best if you face the sub back, up or forward?

I know zenclosures has a box that fits 2 12s but it takes up the entire trunk and faces upwards, not sure if thats the best to go with or have it face backwards like how you have. Would be nice not to have to ship the box too!

I took my sidebox sub box and tried repositioning it. I faced it back, forward, and to the side. I don't think there was a big difference either way. Facing forward sounded more accurate, facing back and sideways sounded a bit more boomy.

When I had the box that faced up, I moved it backward and forward and found that it sounded more boomy the farther back I pushed it.... with right behind the seats sounding the most accurate.

YMMV (of course)

Congrats, Mike is a good guy...I've bought like 5 enclosures from him, lol

IMHO, two 12s would just be entirely too much (2 10s would be MORE than enough). But that's just me.

Also, I am not sure there is a sub that would allow for such few cubic feet of air space that 2 12s could fit directly UNDER the rear strut like a single 10.
completely true. I had 2 Kicker 12" L7s on 1800 watts and it was way too loud for such a small car.

I love mine as well (bought about a year ago). Not only does it look nice and sound great, but it also doubles as a nice grocery/cargo divider

2 x 12 will be too much depending on what subwoofer you are using..

2 quality 10" subs will do the job.. shoot even 1.. i didn't notice one of my sub wires were disconnected and i had my amp power 1 sub.. and it was still loud and the quality was great..

2 x 12 on a car with a trunk yeah.. not on a hatch back

I like a lot of sub in my trunk! I had a twin turbo 300ZX back in high school and have a custom box enclosure with 2 15-inch JL Audio W6 which were the top of the line subs until the W7 came out and I had the loudest stereo in the whole town it seemed! (small town tho) But I would love to have a sweet box for 2 12s, hell if I was able to get a box for 2 15s I'd go for it since I still have those 2 15s sitting in my garage, they wouldnt fit behind the seats of my MR2, so I had 2 12s in there.

What a FRIGGN difference sub location makes!

I am running Eclipse highs and mids w/ 10" Eclipse Sub in factory location. All dyno matted and powered by a sinle Alipine V12 amp.

However, it just plain sucked.

Just cut old wires, removed factory located sub, and relocated new wiring to new sub.

100000000000x better

Thanks Jayson.....looks good.

btw....drag strip in Bradentucky Saturday night??? We'll be there...

thats why i said quality sub... i had (2) JL 12w6's in my maxima .. then i had (1) ID Max 12 .. the ID Max blew away the 2 JL's ... i am willing to bet (1) 12" RE XXX will blow away your (2) 15" JL's.. i am also willing to bet my (2) RE SE 10's will blow away (2) JL 12w6's

the XXX do real well in 3-4 cubes

there is room to port 1 each 12" xxx

they do well with 2500 watts

the W6 do well with about 500- 750 watts and IMO sealed

xxx is an sql sub and will sound nice

you can buy 2 each w6 for 1 each xxx

either way they really will both sound nice

+1 for great stuff from Mike (Zenclosures)...I'm still enjoying my s-type box w/ Kicke'rs 10" solobaric. (I remove/install it every other week for autoX and track stuff - still looks and feels like new!)
