I think you might need to get a hold of this sofware called " senuti" .....
Thats itunes backwards. Or call the 800 apple number and tell them you have a new computer and that you need to establish this laptop as your primary Library. In any case, your original computer with all the music is your ipods only source of transfering usic to it. now that you have another device or computer you will need to establish it as your main & only source for downloading music to it.

When you connect the ipod to your pc are you able to browse the contents on its hard drive? The ipod stores its music in a hidden folder, so you need to enable Windows to "view" hidden files. Once you see these files (they will have names unrelated to the music or artists names) you can copy them and paste them to a directory on your PCs hard drive. Then add those directories to the itunes program by pressing Ctrl + O

i also heard of some shareware called podutil. it is a program that supposedly takes your music from your ipod and puts it directly on your new computer....it sounds too good to be true, does anyone know about this, or similar, programs?

If you want a quick, pain-free solution. Just download the free WinAmp player and pipe it backwards off the iPod to a media library.

Winamp has very nice iPod tools now built in. Just go to the media library, find your iPod in the 'portables' tab. Right-click on it and do the "copy to hard drive" option.

Then you can move those files into wherever folder you want iTunes set up.

Easiest way to do this is. Go to your OLD PC. Hook up your IPOD there. Clear out any data on the actual IPOD. After clearing out your IPOD Right Click on my computer left click explorer Go to your Music folder and click edit/select all. Then click edit copy. Locate your IPOD drive on windows Explorer. It usually comes up has H Or G removeable drive. Right click on the Removeable drive left click paste. It will use your IPOD as a removeable hard drive. After copying your music to to your IPOD as raw data. Go to your new PC and Copy the Data out of the removeable drive on to your new PC. Open ITUNEs and restore your IPOD so that it has no data on it. You can now sync your IPOD to the new Music folder created on your new machine.

your going to have to dowload all your songs to your computer.. it sucks.

it automatically erases the songs to make sure they weren't stolen.. hope you use limewire

Sharepod is a nice, free and easy utility to get the songs back off your ipod. You can use that to pull them, then load them in iTunes and have no issues with syncing.

Ok guys, heres one for you. I been having trouble with my music in my car and came to the conclusion that it is the mp3 files. I played both the Original cd and mp3 file, and the mp3 gets a crackleing sound from the right side. Now what Bit rate and type of compression should i use to creat the mp3 to sound just as the cd does?

Current setting in Winamp were:
MP3 Encoder v1.31 VBR min. 128 VBR max 128 VBR Q: 2

If you want the best quality, then use the highest bitrate possible. Personally I use VBR with 192 min, and 300+ max.

The problem isn't with the disks - why would ORIGINAL store bought CD's from various artist all have the same problem? Take the disk and play it back through a home system to verify that it's not that every disk you buy and every disk you make is bad - only on the left speaker side. If you meant to say that the originals played back fine and the copies were distorted then it's likely your headend's codec is bad.

CD's don't used a compressed MPEG format. The bit rate is 44.1 KHz.

If your radio sounds good and your disks sound bad it's the headend gone bad. If the radio sounds bad too it's likely a speaker or amplifier.

Thanks Paul350z, Yes the Original CD is fine, the mp3 copy is bad. But its not the head unit because it was doing it on my IVA-D310 and now on my IVA-W205 . After i re-ripped the music at the highist rate it is now fine. But it is only on some of my music, mostly my dance music (Tango, Waltz, Classical)
