Default Installing a new sub need some info!!

I have an 03 track with navvy and i want to upgrade my system...the spot behind the drivers seat...i need some info that i just cant figure out...

1. how do i get the cover off
2. once i get the cover off do i need a bracket or is there a place for the speaker to just screw in
3. 10 or 12 inches?
4. subwoofer - where and how big?
5. wiring, do i need to run wires from the head unit or will there be plugs ready to go?

thanks for the help all!!!!

the cover just pops off. take a screw driver wrapped in tape or a cloth and be gentle as to not scrape the plastic...and stick it in. i can pull mine off with my fingers but sometimes it hurts.

the space holds a 10" sub. you can put a 12 in with some slight modification.

sub location can be your preference. mine are in the back under the strut. check out www.wickedcas.com for 350z boxes or zenclosures. (do a search if you cant find them)

wiring will need to be done there are not plugs ready to go...with stock bose if thats what you have or stock radio...you should upgrade that as well to some aftermarket headunit.

i suggest 2 things...first you should use the search feature on the forum as these questions could be easily answered with pictures. second i think you should have someone else do the install for you.

Good luck.

I haven't seen a free air woofer in a long long time and I'm not even sure that the major brands are still even making them. They're inefficient and inaccurate meaning that they're not loud and sound bad. Ported and sealed subwoofers are better in both cases but do require a sealed/ported box to start with.

depends on how much you want to spend and what your looking for. you could get a gps, ipod(audio/video), dvd all in one thing. if you want that i suggest these

kenwood dnx7100
pioneer avic-d3

if you want single din i suggest alpine. check www.crutchfield.com for reviews and brands.

go with the zenclosure under the strut box. dont waste your time trying to put a sub in the stock location. no one has been able to make that sound good.

+1 on the ZEnclosure. SO EZ to install, just push it into place and no hassle, never slides out. The Zenclosures store is on Ebay.

Also that under strut location sounds much better. It fills the car more efficiently from that location.
