Default MP3/DVD-R Head units?

Anyone know if there are any head units that play MP3s and can read a DVD-R full of them? I have a DVD-R burner for my comp and I thought it would be just great if I could burn 4.7gigs of MP3s on one disc and just slap that in my car. Thats like over a thousand songs. Thanks in advance.

Not real sure but you may want to see if the new kenwood excelon dvd/cd player is capable.

But in reality, do you really need that many sonds, I mean you can put around 200 on a cd

Mine does. Alpine 7996.
I use DVD+RW, but I only have enought mp3's for one DVD.

4.5 GB of mp3's is a lot of music.

I can't believe it! All along I trusted the manual:

• Discs that cannot be played DVD-ROMs, DVD-R/DVD-RAMs, DVD-RWs, DVD+RWs, CD-ROMs (excluding MP3 files), photo CDs, etc.

Great, now I guess I'll have to go buy a DVD burner!
