I have a problem though. I don't see any 4 ohm. I'm only used to running 4 ohm speakers. I don't really know much about ohms and such obviously so what's the difference and how would I run a 2 ohm or a single ohm?

Also which one of those do you have? There are like 4 different designs and then another 4 designs within designs....

I have the FI Q series 10". Most people that run subs at 2ohm and some at 1 ohm. You do need a 2 ohm amp to match. The lower the ohm rating the more power it pulls from amp, thus more power to your sub. This is basic but go back to the FI forum, there is great reading there.

Well I'm not in the market for a new amp. I'm just going to find a 4 ohm speaker

Hmmm.... my suggestion is a bit biased; I would go with a Seas Lotus... We listen to the same music throw some jazz, electronica, tribal and lounge music in there and we'd be twins...

Enlarged this to show the impedance rating...

I also have a Polk SR Sub, it looks great, sounds good, but took up too much space and was a bit heavy IMHO.

Anyone have a suggestion for a hard hitting clean sounding sub for a single Zenclosure? I listen to a mix of alternative rock and hip-hop/rap. Try to keep the price @ $200 or below. Thanks!

I'm in to deep bass but also a sound quality guy which is why i wanted to stick with JL. The T1 can be had for 210 shipped and only needs .75 cf in a seal application. Perfect sub for the z. I'm goign to run a fosgate power series 500w mono amp on it.

i have only installed the T series in ported

have you heard it in .75 sealed

they do well with 750 rms

i was using a T2 12" ported in my Z with about 3500 watts at 2 ohm

sounded good not great

FI ....No better subs found anywhere and Scott is the engineer that made the RE sub what it is today.
i run a BTL 12" at the moment with about 5000 watts at 1 ohm

it is nice , i would not say that you can't find a better sub anywere

Digital Designs 9512
Atomic apocalyse apxx
Revolution designs super heavy weight
Treo Engineering SSX

but the Fi is hard to beat at that price of 300-400

however money being no object it is not the best

Is the Zenclosure going to be enough air space for it though?

Those grills were purchased from PartsExpress.com

But JL Audio sells the W7 grills on their website.

Well I had enough of the RF Punch 3 so I took it back and picked up the Alpine type E. WOW, like night and day. Very happy with it for now. Just waiting on the refund from the PPI and then will end up getting something a little more high end. Probably going RE. Thanks to everyone for posting. The type E is very good though. Way better than the Punch and also better than the PPI.
