Default 10" sub suggestions for single Zenclosure

Well I just purchased a Rockford Punch 10" for $179 from best buy and it's NO good. I had a PPI sub in it but something went wrong with it and I have to return it too.

Anyone have a suggestion for a hard hitting clean sounding sub for a single Zenclosure? I listen to a mix of alternative rock and hip-hop/rap. Try to keep the price @ $200 or below. Thanks!

I'm about to purchase the Rockford fosgate T1 10". It's a beast. I heard one of these in a 300zx. this hits so loud and clean. I was going to go with the JL w7 but was a bit heavy so i was going to go with two JL w3's but this thing sounds really good. I'm in to deep bass but also a sound quality guy which is why i wanted to stick with JL. The T1 can be had for 210 shipped and only needs .75 cf in a seal application. Perfect sub for the z. I'm goign to run a fosgate power series 500w mono amp on it.

I use to have Resonant Engineering subs two years ago (one of the brand you suggested), they were only sold through their own company. I didn't know other places started selling it now.

No one really knows about RE besides people who actually know anything car audio. Brands such as RE, diamond, Adire, zapco, mcintosh, elemental designs..etc

Nowadays, people are use to mainstream brands which they think are the best IE kicker, fosgate, sony, etc.

So many independant brands out there sound so much better than these mainstream brands but no one would ever give them a second look

My Diamond Audio D6 10" sub hits hard, clean and deep. It can be found on ebay for under your $200 budget.

RE has had a dealer network for quite some time. I'm not sure how it works now that US Amps has bought them though.

So everyone thinks the RE sub that doug posted is great?

I was trying to find something in the $200 range though. If it's worth it I would go with it though.

Is the Zenclosure going to be enough air space for it though?

I have 2 SE's.. but i had to make the sub opening bigger ..

i have this box

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/350z-...7929QQtcZphoto

Mounting Hole: 9 1/8" this is standard for most 10" subwoofers

with these subs

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=4909

Mounting Hole Diameter - 9.25”

so i had to get busy with my dremel and some sanding paper.. just ensure you know what your mounting hole is first

That's a crazy vid!

Why does he have 2 sets of wire going into the sub though? I only have wire running to one set of terminals on my speaker. I thought you didn't have to use both sides??? My Zenclosure only has terminals on one side of the box on the outside too. Did I wire the sub wrong now too????

only if your sub is DVC (Dual Voice Coil) then you will have terminals on both sides of the sub.. then according to what Ohm you are running you wire them accordingly..

here is an example

Seel.....you can get a sub that many think is better than RE and was designed by the same man who engineered the RE sub design. He now has his own company called FI Audio. And it's less expensive. Check out the link above I provided. And just like doug said you may have to open the mountilng holes slightly like I did also!
Here are some pics of my install........

Theres some EXCURSION room with those surround rubbers!!!LOL!

W6 Just barely fits. Sounds great too. Especially with the small cabin space.

Well this Punch is dual voice coil...I only have it running to a single post. It's bridged wiring though. So is it wired correctly?

This link doesn't take me to an ordering page it takes me to a forum. I went to the shop and didn't see an "FI" link
