Default boost gauge - electrical portion of install - need guidance plz!

hi. what i have here is the defi control unit II along with a boost gauge. i got the mechanical stuff down, but the electrical portion is kicking my *** at the moment.

i must splice in 4 wires from the defi side: black/ground, white/illumination (12V wire when small lamp is on), red/battery (12V battery wire) and orange/ign (12V wire when ignition on).

with the sticky and help of the DIY section, this is what i came up with:

12volts white/blue + ignition harness ==== red/battery
Ignition black/red + ignition harness ==== orange/ign
<or>
Accessory white/black + ignition harness ==== orange/ign?
Parking Lights+ red/blue + driver kick panel ==== white/illumination

can i also install this on the radio side? i think this will be easier.

Radio 12v yellow + radio harness ==== red/battery
Radio Ignition lt. green + radio harness ==== orange/ign
Radio Illumination red/blue + radio harness ==== white/illumination

if anyone is adept in the electrical department, please correct me if i am wrong. i'd like to learn a thing or two with our wiring. great DIY projects coming up.

Thanks in advance!

andy.

Default

mine is tapped from the aftermarket radio harness..

just an FYI .. don't put it back until you test it..

i believe the way defi tells you to wire it.. when your lights are off.. the gauge goes out... you might have to tap your illumination to the ignition instead.. otherwise the gauges are working.. but they are dark.. too dark to see when driving.. you have to then turn on your parking lights
