Default Flush mounting my ipod

Well, I've been trying to figure out where I want to put my i-pod for awhile now and I've just found a great place for it. I never use my change holder at all so I just pulled that out, And perfect fit. I don't know if anyone has put there's here if so I would love to here what you did for the plug in. I know i'm going to have to cut a small piece out of the console to fit the wiring harness. Also i'm going to have to fab a plastic piece under the side of the shifter to to keep it snug on that side.

cool. Does it actually stay there while driving? Looks like it would vibrate off the console.

right now no, I'm going to have to make a plastic peice for the inside so it will sit in there snugly. That was just the test fit when I got the idea in my head.

I might suggest a latex ipod skin. That might make it more, for want of a more technical term, "frictiony" while adding just a little bit of material to keep it snug. It'll also protect the ipod (looks like you need it...) and you can buy it to match your interior color. Just a suggestion...

i had a cloth cover, with rubber on the sides, and i stuffed it in the hole so that one of the rubber sides comes up to where the ipod is...it works kind of like weather stripping, but it keeps the ipod snug and the rubber actually looks almost identicle to the z's interior.

Any developments in making this functional by having the dock connector fit in there, too? I tried this with my 30GB iPod Photo, and it was a very snug fit w/ a latex skin on it. (Read: No chance of having the dock connector plugged in while the iPod is there)

I get the feeling that, with a little modification, the iPod could drop lower into the hole and the dock connector could be made to fit. I didn't look too closely, though.

I'm thinking about notching out the plastic piece and putting rubber around the edges for a snug fit

+1 on the setup Justin350zTT, nice and clean. Now all you need to do is clean your car.
