Default Subwoofer bracket behind drivers seat

So I have the Base model where there is no subwoofer, just a metal bracket.

1. is that metal bracket easily removeble?
2. is there prewiring for aftermarket subwoofer?
3. is it possible to install a 'glove box' like the one on the passenger side?

thx

#3 - Yes, you can buy another glove box kit and it will bolt right in to where the sub panel attaches.

#3 - Well kindof, you can install a compartment, however the door is attached to that large trim that covers the whole rear area. So you can either have it on the US side or Japan side by using that trim piece from either country. But you can't have both.

well i've heard removing the subwfr metal bracket is a pain... you have to remove (or at least shift) all the plastic panels from kickplate to rear...

removing the sub bracket is far from easy. You can not get the bolts without removing ALL the panelling back there. Just removing the solid plastic cover will not give you access to the bolts in which the bracket is bolted down. So whoever thinks removing or installing that bracket is easy.... you should start a bussiness because that thing will hurt your feelings.

No, no "pre-wiring" but the wires are easy enough to push up into the dvd/5disc changer compartments and push them through to the hatch.

I believe they do have glove box kits, but why would you need a 2nd one?

Actually, you CAN accomplish this, it is just a matter of getting into the small work required to convert the driver's side to the passenger side, or vice versa. You don't need any new parts (besides just the actual door itself. but that's probably the hardest part.. just finding someone who will have that piece for sale W/O including that ENTIRE rear plastic piece with the sale!). You just use what was provided for the passenger side (I have a glovebox for sale, too, btw, if anyone's interested. perfect condition, have no use for it). It is a little too detailed to get into but if you are really interested, PM me. I actually did this conversion in my own car bc I wanted quicker access to be able to update my navi which is behind the driver's seat and behind the paneling now, instead of going ALL THE WAY AROUND to the passenger side ..lol.. I know, I'm a lazy bastard. That is, the door conversion is the only part that required a little work. The glovebox will simply bolt in there, no problems.

Removing the sub-bracket itself is actually VERY easy. Just a couple of bolts. Yes, ppl MAY have a little trouble tackling the panels, but I've removed that plastic many, many times before and it's quite simple. You just can't be intimidated to go back there. If you break a couple of plastic snaps, so what??! Go buy a couple more at the dealership, I know I've broken one or two until perfecting the "technique," haha..

Tak, I believe I bought an amp rack from you. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

I haven't installed it yet because my installer buddy wants all day to work on the back panel to take it off. Can you do a quick writeup on how to get it apart quickly and easily? Personally, I'm afraid of it at this point. As somebody else said... it hurts my feelings.

I've been searching and posting a lot today looking for solutions to the issue of upgrading the Blose sub and the factory speakers... while installing an amp somewhere, preferably with the amp rack I bought, since it's already paid for.

Any help is appreciated.
