Question Bose and Touring model

I'm about to purchase a 350z and am debating between the Touring and Enthusiast models. I like the leather seats in Touring, but after all I've read about "problems" (understatement!!) with the Bose stereo in the Touring model I'm considering just getting the Enthusiast and seeings if I can get leather seats as an add-on from the dealer.

Anybody got input on this? Is it worth it to get the Touring model, crappy Bose stereo and all?

I guess it depends on what (and if) the solution Bose offers to the stereo problem is. If it's a $100 voucher for BestBuy to go towards a better amp, then they can go screw themselves. Anybody got the latest word from Bose regarding their "fix" for their sub-standard stereo?

Don't buy the touring for Bose and leather! I wish I could go back in time- get my own leather and own system! BOSE sucks.

I bought the Touring, and though I'm not sorry I did, I will be tearing out the entire Bose system and replacing it with aftermarket stuff. If I had it all to do over again...I'd probably get the Track.

Default Touring

Actually I'm getting (or considering, I should say) the Touring for the "luxury" features like the leather, etc. I'm NOT getting it specifically for the Bose. If it were possible, I'd get the Touring minus the Bose system, and take the money I saved and put it into an after-market stereo.

Does anybody know specifically what is the cause of the Bose sucking? Is it just underpowered, or is the EQ doing a terrible job of distributing the sound amongst the speakers, or what? Does the Touring/Bose system have an external amp or is it built into the in-dash unit?

Since I haven't purchased yet (next month for sure) I can't get onto the Bose "mailing list" for those who want updates on their solution to the stereo problem - so can those who are "connected" let us know any updates?
