Default Amp remote?

Question for you guys? For those of you who have decided to upgrade speakers and amp, but kept factory headunit, what have you guys used as a remote to start the aftermarket amp? Thanks for any input

havent done it, but my guess is you'd have to tap into the radios switched wire? does the back of the factory h.u and rca preouts?????? or are you going to run like a jl audio cleansweep???

Actually i'm using a full infiniti setup, speakers, amp, and sub. for the rca connections i just got the line level converters 4ch for the speakers and a 2ch for the sub. So this would feed from the existing harness into the bose amp, and also the sub amp. the only thing i'm not too sure about is the remote start signal for the bose amp, will it be enough juice to get amp functional..

i know me too, the only reason i don't want to change the headunit is because of the bluetooth. loosing the voice on the navi no big deal, but the bluetooth i just love as a feature that i can use with the steering wheel, i spend alot of time making phone calls in the car for work, so i have programmed all the numbers i mostly use on a daily basis and just hit the button on the steering wheel and give it the command.... which i just love, i know i can get an aftermarket radio with bluetooth as well, but not sure if i can keep the steering wheel control for phone.. i know there is a kit also to keept steering wheel controls for volume, track, mode. but not sure if that also works for voice commands

ANY wire that turns on with accessory can be used as a remote turn on for the amp...

but usually the ACC wire on the back of the stock headunit, or at the bose amp are the most common. or, some of todays amps feature smart turn on, so you dont need a remote wire, it turns itself on instantly when it senses isgnal coming through its inputs.

thanks 16psibrick learned something new, i did not know about the smart turn on amps. So the remote start for the bose amp should be able to turn on the aftermarket amp correct? also do you know the color scheme on that?
