i CAN'T BELIEVE no one else is catching on to this, I did this to both of my maunal transmission cars ( 350z and impreza ) and from an installers stand point , this is a much more reliable and safer setup that anything else out there. With a compustar there is still a chance of starting in gear ( if windows are left down and someone reaches in and puts it in gear).

Thats why you take the extra key that you put in the box to a grinder before putting it in there then it is useless to a thief, also i beleive xpresskits.com has an interface out that does not require lossing a key under the dash.

Well thats why you cut/grind the key so they cant put it in the ignition

People ALWAYS ignore this advice when I give it in these threads. I think it's because no one really knows what I'm talking about.

As you said, this is by far the safest way to install a remote start on these cars, and it only involves hooking up one extra wire. You can grab tach at the ECU, so you are already running a wire over there anyway. I wish DEI would start recognizing manual transmission vehicles with OEM NSS wires. I understand the liability, but they are really losing a lot of sales to Compustar just so they can be 'safe'.

Would'nt the liability come down on the manufacture ( nissan ) if there was a problem because it would be a faulty nss ? Dei does recognize the nss in there install manuals, only for automatics though .

thats why I have my compustar programed to pulse the door locks for 8 seconds to automatically roll up my windows, there are just so many more options with compustar vs. everyone else, the option to upgrade systems from say a 1 way system to a 2 way system, without having to change the brain out, range capabilitys up to 6000 feet. personally it doesnt matter what you come with, comparing DEI to compustar is like comparing ROTA to VOLK.

Since I have been installing both systems for the last 9 years ( not compustar since they have not been around that long ) ive seen it all, compustars are not as reliable, yes they have a few more options but not worth it in my opinion for all the time they need to be serviced for bad brains or malfunctioning transmitters, but to each his own. Plus having to do that lame sequence every time you get out of the car gets old after a while, trust me I used compustars in my own personal vehicles.

lame sequence??? you pull your ebrake and get out out of your car, you aren't doing anything different except letting the system shut off and lock the car for you. and as for reliablity I've had compustars in every vehicle I've owned for the last 5 years, and NEVER had a single problem, 99% of the problems we get every day are people who are to lazy to read their owners manual and end up bumping buttons and putting their car into passive or valet mode.

I would much rather use the NSS that Nissan provides then have to do the 'sequence' as well. The sequence simply isn't needed on Nissans (that have OEM PNP switches, which most do).

Yes python units, directed, automate, viper , clifford units are all very similiar units. They are all made by the same company with the only differences being the style of the transmitter and small variences in outputs and programming features, but yes python units IMO are excellent units.
