I just got the D3 for a friend and if wasnt for DVD function, I think my D2 is better. Is there any way to store a route in navigation in memory over 10-12 miles, it seems like every time we try to do that and take the disc out, it says the guidance will cancel. So AVIC D3 guys, do you mean to tell me if I have a route thats about anywhere between 20 - xxxxxx miles, I cant play a CD or DVD (yes we bypassed it) ? If so that sucks big time.
Is the internal memory that small that it can only store an area of 10 miles by 10 miles?

The save feature works for me.... I enter the destination, it calculates, and out goes the DVD. It takes a few second to write the route to the memory, and I’m free to play my mp3s… look in the menus, there might be an option about that and i think i did more then 10 miles...

uh...the d3 can store a route thats like from SF to LA, if it says navigation will be cnacled when you take the disc out, that means its still programming, there should be a little block with a M on it that flashes green when its still thinking and programming, you have to wait until it stops flashing, then you can tak eit out, at whcih point it says transferring to memory navigation mode.
if that doesnt work you have a faulty nav unit
