avic Z2?
hey guys i was just reading reviews on the z2 and some people said that when the car is in motion all the audio and nav. features are disabled. Like if you wanna go eat chinese you have to stop park then find your route? Anyone know this to be true? Im debating between this one and the avic d3 i love the look of the z2's nav and other features but this would make it virtually worthless to me.. Thanks.

Dude I just installed this about 3 weeks ago. The info you hear is completely correct, BUT.......... And a very big BUT....... You can go to avic411.com to get the any info you want for this unit.
The bypass for the D3 is the same for the Z2
1ST- You will need to GROUND the parking brake wire,
2nd- Re locate the MUTE wire (follow link below for right pin) and ground that
3RD- download the file from the other link below and burn it to a CD. DO NOT use windows default program to do this. the unit will not read it. I used Nero and it worked fine.

After doing this you will no longer have any restrictions, you can even watch a dvd while driving.

There are two versions of the Z2 out right now. The older units, and the newer units, which came out maybe 6 weeks ago that have a yellow serial sticker thing on the box. Make sure you get the yellow-sticker version (retailers should know what you are talking about) because Pioneer came out with these specifically for the Z2-bypass crowd.
If you get the old z2, there is no bypass, period.

thanks for the warning for sure. wow im glad i didnt just jump on the bandwagon. Whats a good deal for these right now i found them over at sonic electronix for about 1500 or so. 1490 i think. Ive done business with them before and they were great. Anybody have any other companys to buy from with good service and maybe a cheaper price? thanks.

I got mine from the link below.
Some people say you dont get a warranty when you pay so little for the unit. That is in correct. When I registered mine with pioneer everything was legit with the extended 3 yr warranty I got. .
BUT please use caution it you get yours online. The first people I tried to get it from wanted to sell me all the wires (that come in the sealed box with the unit) for an additional cost. Thats crap. Mine came from Broadway in a complete sealed box and none of that B.S. thats out there.
