Default interesting quote from Alpine warranty

I was reading the Alpine limited warranty...here is one of the things that is not covered...

"Damage caused by act of God, including without
limitation, earthquake, fire, flood, storms or other acts of
nature."

I was surprised by the wording

I work in insurance, and that phrase is common. Act of God meaning natural disaster.

This phrase is in just about every warranty/insurance liability rundown. The wording is kinda interesting I guess, but that's basically them saying that they aren't going to repair stuff if nature breaks it.

A lot also have acts of war clauses too. Like if your Z is run over by a tank they don't have to cover it. Or hit by a mortar. Or shot by a German. Or a Korean.

so if a terrorist bombed some area, and my car was there, insurance wouldn't cover that?

Given our current situation overseas, I'd say yes. However, the legality of said war and it's ramifications in regard to your bombed-out nissan is a totally different argument and thread.

Does the fact they put the part about God in there mean someone actually tried to blame him for a defect?

its probably really old school wording that never got changed...if they had to write that now, they would just say act of nature, not act of God.
