Default Is my 03' Bose Unit Toast?

So I was at a buddies house over the weekend, and crashed at his place overnight. I left something on in the Z that night (domelight, headlight, etc.) and my battery died.

The next day we went to jump it. I placed the positive and negative clamps on both poles CORRECTLY, and soon after my buddy put his on the opposite way! Ah! Sparks!

So I told him to put it back on properly, we did, and I started up the car, everything is cool... Except my Bose HU doesn't power up! The light for the LED screen is dead.

-I Checked the fuses
-I took the **** out
-I unplugged the car over night. WTF!

Has this happened to anyone before? I think it could be covered under warranty.

User mistakes are now covered under warranty?

Connecting power backwards is a pretty bad thing. Lots of electronic equipment has protection in one form or another from such accidents as they happen too often - so don't feel bad. If the unit did reset itself it's likely that it has some sort of diode that smoked to protect the rest of the circuits. If so it's a cheap fix in front of an expensive worker. If that's all that smoked you got off cheap ... ECU's are not cheap!

I did similar in the 90s to a 1990 camry. jumped it with old unmarked jumper cables. blew lots of fuses and really screwed up my remote start.

Check the underhood fuses. check the one marked HORN. i found that the horn fuse also has something to do with the radio. I had that fuse blow and the Headunit would light up, but it would not turn on.
