Default Advice on new speakers, amp, sub, and hu

I'm looking at putting in a better-than-the-stock system that will eventually lead into a full fledged carputer. Here's what I was planning on until I can get the money for the computer and screen:

- 6 1/2" Polk Audio db6500: $150
- Profile AP1040 amp w/ bridged rear channel: $100
- 10" Infinity Reference 1050w: $100

I'm not looking to make the neighbors deaf, just something to put out some nice clean sound. Does this setup look alright for the lower end price range?

My hu is an old Aiwa CDC-mp3, it sucks. I'd like to get something with decent ipod/iphone capabilities for ~$150-$200. Any suggestions?

Because it gave me 80w per channel for $100. I know nothing about amps, does Profile have a bad reputation?

yeah profile is around the same quality as jensen, try to avoid if you can. car audio is like any thing related to car modding, a good deal is good, but try to avoid the super cheap stuff, hehe like apc

speaking of the polks, i hvae a brand new set of polk DB6500s, i got in trade from a csutomer, brand new for 110 shipped..., so that will do you good.

the sub is okay, nothing special but not all that bad.

the amp, i suggest you get a little four channel to power things, even something thats around 4x50 2x150 bridge would do great. i think there is such an amp on ebay for that kind of price if are on a super tight budget.

its got even higher output than 4x50 and would work well overall...and you can use the money you saved by buying the polks through me on the amp

Thanks for the great info. I'm definitely going to do some more research on the amps.
